Jonathan Jasperse

Jonathan first started playing the piano in 4th grade. It was in high school at age 14 that he fell in love with virtuosic rock and classical piano, and took private lessons at Tufts Conservatory. Developing a taste for jazz piano, Jonathan began playing out with his school's local jazz ensembles. During this time at the age of 16 Jonathan began learning drums from his Jazz drummer father. Determined to keep being a multiinstrumentalist, he started learning bass and guitar as well. After Highschool, Jonathan played venues such as the Sonia and Middle East in cambridge with his experimental jazz & metal fusion band Needle Play. The band went on to win the Boston Music Award for Metal Artist of the year in 2020. Jonathan went on to gig as a session bass player and keyboard player for local Berklee jazz and rock bands, and ever since then he has been teaching piano in Newton and working with local artists as a music producer.
