Band Rehearsal Space
How much do the rooms cost?
We have 5 studios in total and they come in 3 different sizes. Studios are rented by the hour. Please note that the minimum one can rent is an hour, but after that rentals can be made in half hour increments. For example, you can’t rent 30 minutes, but you can rent 1 hour and 30 minutes or 2 hours and 30 minutes.
Studio A and D are 14 x 14, they rent for $35/hour and can accommodate 1 – 6 musicians comfortably.
Studio B and C are 10 x 14, they rent for $33/hour and can accommodate 1 – 4 musicians comfortably.
Studio E is a 16 x 10 stage in a large room, it rents for $40/hour and can accommodate larger bands.
What is included in the studio rental?
Each studio has 1 PA system with mixer and 2 speakers, 1 bass amp, 2 guitar amps and one standard drum set with cymbals. Mics, mic cords and stands are also provided.
How early can I arrive to set up?
We ask that you factor in set up and break down time into your reservation. Given that a band could be using the space before or after, we do not allow early set ups or late break downs and anyone arriving early or staying late will be charged in 15 minute increments.
Do you have off-street parking?
We have plenty of off-street parking in front and to the side of our facility.
Do you provide monthly rentals?
We run an hourly band rehearsal space, so unfortunately, our business model does not work with a monthly rental model. You can rent studios weeks in advance and have a standing rental in the studio and time of your choice if you plan in advance.
What is your cancellation policy?
We enforce a 24 hour cancellation policy for lessons and room rentals. Any lesson or room can be canceled or rescheduled provided it is not within the 24 hour hour period of its scheduled appointment. This is to protect the livelihood of our teachers and staff and to allow them to properly schedule their week.
When a studio is canceled early, you end up with a credit on your account for the amount of time in that studio. For example, if you rented Studio A for 2 hours, you would end up with a 2 hour credit in Studio A. This credit can’t be used in another studio, however, refunds are provided upon request. The system is just not designed to automatically refund on a cancellation, but we are happy to do so if you ask.

Music Lessons
What are lessons like at Parallel Sound Studio?
We have a dedicated facility complete with 5 teaching studios, 5 sound-proof rehearsal rooms with full drum sets and a stage area for performances.
We try to make things easy here. We have sunlit lessons rooms, fun teachers and a very flexible teaching style. We tailor each lesson to the student and try to make each experience unique. So there is not a forced curriculum and students will not just be staring at a book the whole lesson. We try to make things fun and in addition to learning skills in playing their instrument and the theory behind it, students will also get to play songs that they enjoy regardless of the instrument they are playing.
Lessons are $45 per half hour and are only charged by the lesson. We teach Monday - Friday from 3-8 and Saturday and Sunday from 9-4.
We charge by the lesson to make it reasonable so you don't have to worry about paying for months of lessons in advance. The only thing we ask is observing a 24 hour cancellation window to protect the schedules of our teachers. All of our teachers are full-time musicians so I need to protect their livelihoods by requiring payment for any lessons canceled within 24 hours.
The first lesson is free, so there is really no obligation other than taking the time to come over to have the lesson. If you can let me know the best days and times for you, we can see how that fits into our teaching schedule.
How much do lessons cost?
Lessons are $45 per half hour and $90 per hour. We only charge by the lesson, so there are no advance charges, tuition or semester fees that might make you feel locked into something.
What are your teaching hours?
We teach Monday - Friday from 3-9 and Saturday and Sunday from 9-4. We have 10 instructors teaching Piano, Guitar, Drums, Vocals, Bass, Ukulele, Violin, Viola, Cello, Woodwinds and Brass. Not all of our teachers work every day, so not all instruments are available every day, but we can provide you with days and times for the instrument you are interested in.
What is your cancellation policy?
We enforce a 24 hour cancellation policy for lessons and room rentals. Any lesson can be canceled or rescheduled provided it is not within the 24 hour hour period of its scheduled appointment. This is to protect the livelihood of our teachers and staff and to allow them to properly schedule their week.
Do you offer make-up lessons?
We offer make-up lessons on a case by case basis seeing as our teachers are already very busy and we have to match up openings in their schedule to openings in your schedule.
Do you have off-street parking?
We have plenty of off-street parking in front and to the side of our facility.
Is there a waiting area for families?
We have several waiting areas for families complete with a foosball table, toys, legos and books to keep siblings occupied.

Recording
How does recording work?
Recordings are all unique to the band/singer/voiceover artist. We initially meet with the prospective client and go over their vision for the project and come up with a plan for moving forward. A singer might just need one mic, a small grout 2-4, whereas a full band could require 16. Our studio can accommodate all of these scenarios.
Recording can take 1-5 hours per session depending on the project and there are usually multiple sessions. After the rough tracks have been recorded, our recording engineer will mix them, add effects and after all are in agreement, will master the recording and make it available for the client via dropbox. Mixing can take 1-10 hours depending on the input of the client.
What is the set up for the recording studio?
Our control room is very well equipped to help you create the sound you want. We use an all new digital PreSonus platform. Our main mixing console is a PreSonus StudioLive 16.4.2. Our DAW features Studio One Pro, version 2 also by PreSonus, which is completely integrated with the mixer itself. Apart from various software plugins we have numerous hardware features integrated into the console such as equalizers, gate, compressor, reverb, delay and many others. We can record up to 16 tracks simultaneously and later overdub an almost infinite number of tracks.
We have all of the standard software packages that you would expect to find in a recording studio, including various effects, vocal correction, drum/beat track production and many others.
Our studio monitors are very accurate KRK ROKIT 8 G2. As for the microphones, we have several professional studio condenser mics made by Neumann, SHURE and Audio-Technica: SM57, SM58, Beta 57A, Beta 58A, PG81, PG52, Beta 52, KSM-27, AT4033CL to name a few.
How much does recording cost?
We charge $50/hour for recording and mixing. It will vary depending on the amount of songs recorded and the scope of the project.
